About Kuba
Kuba (Jakub Tokarczyk) is a Montreal-based pianist and composer — a 2026 competitor on Télé-Québec’s “Piano Public” — working across concert stage, dance studio and screen.
Self-taught in Poland, shaped by jazz studies in Paris and a Master’s in Composition for Visual Arts (Lyon, 2025), studied film music composition at the Université de Montréal. Kuba writes scores for animated film, cinema and dance that blend orchestral writing, jazz and folk influences with detailed sound design. He is also a pianist accompanist and responsable de ressources sonores at the École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, where improvisation with dancers remains central to his artistic practice.
His music can be heard in commercials, animated films and dance performances. Creates immersive organic and melodic soundtracks: Sound design integrated with original music composition. Awarded several times for his work at international festivals.
